Suhana loses in 5 games, ends campaign with bronze
The fourth game is taken by Goda 11-8. That's the end of Suhana's campaign. She finishes with a bronze - the first whole medal for India in 18 years.
Suhana Saini might have made a bright start to her semifinal but the Egyptian world number 1 began to dominate proceedings from the third game onwards. It's all over in five games - with Goda beating Saini by 4 games to 1.
Suhana Saini down by 1-3 after four games
Goda takes command of the third game. A huge 8-point lead between her and Suhana as she goes 10-2 up. Seals it at 11-3. It's 2-1 to the Egyptian after three games. The third game goes Goda's way too. The Indian now needs to win all the remaining games to win this match.
2nd Game: Suhana wins 11-9
Suhana roars back in the second game and wins it 11-9. Goda hits the last shot of the game long and crouches in agony. It's 1-1 after the first two games.
Suhana vs Goda: Goda wins first game 12-10
Suhana Saini's semifinal begins. It's all even-steven in the first game - before the Indian begins to draw away, building up a 3-point lead to go up 8-5. But then the Egyptian fights back and earns the first game point. And wins it 12-10.
The SAINI Suhana/MATIUNINA Veronika pair lost against GODA Hana/HARIMOTO Miwa in 0-3 sets in the semifinal of U15 girls Doubles category earlier in the tournament. Now Suhana is a game down in the singles semifinal to Goda as well.
