Sajan Prakash will compete in 200m butterfly while Milak, Ledecky, Titmus, Ohashi and Hosszu are all in action.

Welcome to the Evening Session of Swimming on Day 3 at the Tokyo Olympics!
The Tokyo Aquatics Centre will be witnessing 4 events in total and all of them are heats. Sajan Prakash, India's first swimmer to secure direct qualification to the Olympics, will compete in the 200m butterfly heats.
The events are as follows:
1. Women's 200m Freestyle Heats
2. Men's 200m Butterfly Heats
3. Women's 200m Individual Medley Heats
4. Women's 1500m Freestyle Heats
The Ledecky-Titmus rivalry will resume in the 200m freestyle while Kristof Milak is expected to dominate the field in the 200m butterfly. Katinka Hosszu will look to win one last 200m individual medley while Ledecky is the favourite in the newly-introduced 1500m freestyle.

Ledecky lives up to her reputation and sets a new Olympic record with 15:35.45. Further, China's Jianjiahe Wang sets a new Asian record too, with 15:41.49.
With this, today's swimming events come to an end.
The Women's 1500m Freestyle is the newest addition to swimming at the Olympics.
Katie Ledecky is the outright favourite to win it and will be in action in Heat 5.
Unlike the previous swimming events so far, this event is much longer and takes more time to complete.
Kate Douglas, Alex Walsh and Abbie Wood are the young challengers to Katinka Hosszu's throne.
This will be a cracker of a final and not a blow-out for Hosszu.
The defending champion Hosszu clocks the second fastest time, staving off challenger Walsh, and wins her heat.
It will definitely not be easy for her to retain this time around.
Sydney Pickrem just about managed to finish 3rd in the Heats which should be enough to see her qualify.

19-year old Kate Douglass puts her name in the hat with a strong performance in Heat 2 ahead of 400m Individual Medley winner Ohashi from Japan.
Sajan Prakash's Tokyo Olympics are now over after finishing 24th in the heats.
This ends India's participation in swimming in this edition.
World record holder Milak shows the difference between him and the rest of the field by winning his Heat effortlessly.
