That's all we have from the India-Pakistan clash at the Asian Squash Team Championships 2021. What a thriller we have had, but in the end Pakistan's winning run in Malaysia has been brought to a halt by the Indians.
Thank you for joining in for our LIVE coverage of the clash. See you next time!
Pheww, that was a thriller. It went right down the wire and India finally, finally managed to come on top. The tie had no point going this close once India led 4-0, but a loss to Mahesh Mangaonkar and then Saurav Ghosal trailing 0-2 meant Pakistan were in driver's seat.
Once Ghosal went 0-2 down, he had to win three games in a row to pocket the tie for India. Pakistan's Aslam, on the other hand, had to defy him only once more. But, it was not meant to be.
Saurav Ghosal came out with vengeance and clinched it for India.
Saurav Ghosal, take a bowwwwww!
He was under tremendous pressure. The match and the tie seems lost. But, he comes out bosses around in the remaining three games, wins the game as well as the tie for INDIA.
9-11, 7-11, 11-1, 11-7, 11-8
Ghosal gets on a roll and India is now just one point away from winning this tie!!!!!!
The Pakistani has managed to string together a few points and has reduced the deficit to two. 8-6 lead for Ghosal.
Saurav continues to maintain his lead in the decider. Aslam trying to cling on. 7-3.
India 6-5 Pakistan
Saurav Ghosal has raced to a 3-1 lead. India in a driving seat? Cannot tell.
This tie has gone down to the final game. Who will come out on top? Saurav Ghosal or Tayyab Aslam?
There is a reason why Ghosal is called the King of Indian squash and he has proven it now. Comes from two games down to equalise when the tie is on the line.
The job is not done though. He needs to win the next game to snatch win for India.
India 6-5 Pakistan
Saurav Ghosal seems well in control to take this match into a decider. But, Aslam is fighting hard.
