The tie began with a thrilling men’s singles match, where Pune’s 17-year-old Mateusz Matysik showcased composure and skill. Despite a spirited comeback by Bengaluru’s Jack Foster, Matysik secured an 18-15 win to give Pune an early lead.

Bengaluru responded emphatically in the women’s doubles, as Trang Hyunh-McClain and Alexandra Borobia delivered a dominant 28-6 victory over Mollie Knaggs and Talia Saunders, leveling the tie at 1-1.

The men’s doubles match was another highlight, with Pune’s William Sobek and Vanshik Kapadia combining effectively. They led 7-5 at halftime and extended their advantage to claim a 13-8 victory, putting Pune ahead 2-1.

In the women’s singles, Katerina Stewart’s precision and endurance proved too strong for Pune’s Brooke Revuelta. Stewart pulled away in the second to win 22-13, taking the tie to a decisive mixed doubles match.

The mixed doubles saw Pune’s Molly O’Donoghue and Louis Laville dominate Bengaluru’s Trang Hyunh-McClain and Jack Foster. With fast-paced exchanges and solid teamwork, Pune comfortably secured a 20-8 win, clinching the tie 3-2.

As Pune United look to build on their first win of the season, Bengaluru Jawans will aim to bounce back and regain momentum. With fierce competition heating up in the league, every match is becoming crucial for teams seeking to solidify their standings.
