Mumbai Pickle Power extended their unbeaten streak in the World Pickleball League with a 3-1 (with one draw) victory over Chennai Super Champs. This result leaves Chennai searching for the first win. The tie featured high-energy matches and standout performances, with Chennai’s Sonu Vishwakarma putting up a valiant fight in the opening game.

Held at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, The men’s singles match between Mumbai’s Bartosz Karbownik and Chennai’s Sonu Vishwakarma kicked off proceedings. Sonu started strong, leading 11-5 at halftime, but Bartosz clawed his way back into the game, showcasing immense resilience. The match ended in a thrilling 16-16 draw, a testament to Sonu’s grit and Bartosz’s determination.

Mumbai then took the lead as Sabrina Mendez and Glauka Carvajal Lane controlled the women’s doubles, defeating Anna Patrimonio and Sarah Jane Lim 15-9.

Chennai leveled the tie in the men’s doubles as Etienne Blaszkewycz and Tanner Tomassi outplayed Eung Gwon Kim and Brandon Lane, winning 16-8.

The women’s singles match was a closely fought battle between Mumbai’s Mihae Kwon and Chennai’s Thaddea Lock. Locked at 13-13 late in the game, Mihae’s exceptional form cane through in the final moments and she earned a 18-15 victory.

In the mixed doubles, the Lanes—Glauka and Brandon—demonstrated their strong chemistry once again beating Etienne Blaszkewycz and Sarah Jane Lim. Their cohesive play led to a convincing 15-8 win, sealing a 3-1 tie victory for Mumbai.
