The prestigious All England Badminton Open Championships is back upon us yet again. One of the most prominent badminton tournament, the All England Open will be held from 17th March to 21st March at the Utilita Arena Birmingham this year.

Besides Sindhu, veteran Saina Nehwal is the only other Indian representation in women's singles. While, the men's singles will have HS Prannoy, Parupalli Kashyap, Sai Praneeth, Sameer Verma and Lakshya Sen in action along with Srikanth.

PV Sindhu begins her All-England campaign with a 21-11, 21-17 win over Malaysia's Soniia Cheah in the opening round (Round of 32).

The fifth-seeded Indian will look forward to better her 2018 semi-final finish and win this time around. The prestigious All-England has been won by just two Indians so far – the Prakash Padukone (1980) and Pullela Gopichand (2001).

This tournament is a Super 1000 event but not part of the Tokyo Olympic qualification calendar.

Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty are playing their opening match against Nikhar Garg (England) and Aniruddha Mayekar (India) at the All-England Badminton Open now in Court 3. 

The Indian men's doubles pair take the opening game comfortably 21-7.

Not the greatest of start for India in Round of 32 at the All-England Badminton Open with two losses and the only win coming in women's doubles where Ashwini Ponnappa/Sikki Reddy came out victorious.

Shortly, PV Sindhu on the other hand will face Malaysia's Soniia Cheah. Saina would be up against the in-form Danish Mia Blichdeldt who was shown the exit door by PV Sindhu in the semi-finals of the Swiss Open just a week back
