20' - Good defence from India
Japan on the charge now, but the Indian defence holds up well to avert any danger that might pose.
16' - Harmanpreet misses
Harmanpreet Singh's dragflick is blocked again before a Japanese defender goes down in the circle. It is all happening in the early second quarter.
16' - India survive
The first drag flick hits Jarmanpreet's foot, before Sreejesh comfortably blocks the second. India go on a counter attack of their own and earn a PC themselves.
16' - PC, JAPAN!
PR Sreejesh with some acrobatic show in front of the goal, but Japan have managed to earn a PC.
END OF FIRST QUARTER
That also brings an end to the first quarter dominated by India. The men in blue had multiple circle penetrations and enjoyed a higher possession as well, but they have failed to open the scoring even after two PCs.
IND 0-0 JPN
15' - Abhishek hits it straight to the goalkeeper
A tomahawak from Abhishek from right in the centre of the circle, but he hits it straight to the goalkeeper. That was powerfully struck from the Indian, but the placement was not the best.
13' - RAJKUMAR MISSES!
Rajkumar Pal goes for a shot, but the forward rushing Japanese goalkeeper deflects it away. THAT WAS A REAL CHANCE FOR INDIA!
12' - India miss two PCs
Japan finally crumble in the circle and hand India the first PC of the match. The first drag flick hits the foot of the rusher before the second is intercepted cleanly.
India, yet again, fail to convert PCs.
10' - Brilliant defensive work from Japan
India pose continuous threats to Japan with constant circle penetrations, but their defensive unit is compact and have been denying the Indians rather easily.
8' - Excellent review from Japan
Akashdeep with a brilliant run before passing it to Mandeep Singh, who once again earns a PC for India. Japan reviews and are proven right. The ball had hit Akashdeep's feet during that run.
