Women's Hockey World Cup LIVE: India plays out 1-1 draw with England - Updates, Results, Scores, Blog
54' - LUCKY FOR INDIA
A dangerous shot from the left and thankfully for India no defender was in the way of that shot. The English striker in front of an open goal too did not put a lot of effort in trying to reach that.
51' - GREEN CARD, GURJIT!
Navjot comes in but Gurjit has to walk out. Don't know what happened there, but the referee was quick to point out India number 2, that is Gurjit. Down to 10 players again are the women in blue.
50' - ENGLAND MISSES!
Much much better from England inside the circle, but the stroke is well wide of the post. India are feeling the heat.
48' - GREEN CARD, NAVJOT!
That's a child-like error from Navjot and India are down to 10 players. She played the ball after the whistle and the umpire brings out a green card. Can England take advantage?
47' - Good start for India
India come close to the danger area and this is a good start. England defend well and deny any sort of shot at goal.
END OF THIRD QUARTER!
That's the end of the third quarter and there is nothing to separate the two teams. England were much better in this quarter, but they haven't create a lot of chances and have helped India stay afloat.
IND 1-1 ENG
45' - SAVED!
A chance against the run of play for India, but Neha's shot is deflected away by Maddie Hinch. That was a rebound attempt and a very powerful stroke, but it was an even better save from the English goalie.
Do not think anyone expected that sort of a stroke from Neha from the position she was in. Took everyone by surprise there.
44' - Careless passing from India
Some very careless passing for India in the past few minutes as they keep on gifting away the possession. There seems to be a dip in intensity of the women in blue in this quarter.
40' - Good effort from Navneet
A brilliant run with the ball from Navneet as she goes past a couple of defenders, but it doesn't create any threat. She is brought down very cleanly just ahead of the the circle as England regain control.
37' - GOOD DEFENCE, INDIA
England are trying to press harder now. They penetrate again, but the Indian defence holds up well to intercept and avert any serious danger. The women in blue are struggling now to get out of that pressure. They have been pinned to the back.
