She seems to be waging a lone battle for Soorma, does Savita. Another PC conceded and the first drag flick is hit into a defender's foot.

The Pipers try a variation with the second attempt and Savita Punia comes up with a good save to deny.

The first dragflick catches the foot of the first rusher and they are handed a another. They try a variation for the second, but the eventual deflection hits one of the postwomen in the foot.

Savita Punia pads away the third drag flick from Deepika and Soorma go on a counter, which is curtailed by a poor pass.

25' - PIPERS SCOREEE!

Yet another penalty corner for the Delhi SG Pipers and they finally have their first goal of the tournament.

The drag flick is deflected off a defender's stick and lobs in the air. It is enough to put off Savita Punia and all Sangita Kumari has to do is tap the ball into the net. The youngster does it duly. Soorma have been jolted.

Another good run into the circle by Pipers and Soorma need the services of Savita Punia, who makes a brilliant save. Finishing continues to be an issue for the Pipers.

22' - Soorma miss PC!

Soorma have been showing some intent and they earn a PC. Salima Tete, is back in the field for them, and she comes in with an injection.

A good first rush from from the Pipers and they create a counter attack of their own.

A massive chaos ensues in front of the goal on the other end of the field, but the Pipers can't convert.

Meanwhile, an interesting statistic reflects on the screen - Delhi SG Pipers are yet to score a goal in the Women's HIL. They are currently playing their third match.

The Delhi SG Pipers are desperate to get their win win of the Women's HIL and they are playing like it. They have put constant pressure on the Soorma Hockey Club though the scorecard is yet to reflect anything.

The Soorma, meanwhile, are living dangerously and will need to get their act together soon.

14' - Good defence, Nikki Pradhan

Once again a dangerous run into the circle from the Pipers and this time Savita Punia is almost beaten, but Nikki Pradhan comes up with a crucial interception on the far post to avert danger for Soorma.

A good pass on the right flank and the ball finds Mumtaz Khan. She penetrates the circle, dribbling past a couple of players and takes a shot. It is on target but did not have enough venom to trouble the experienced Savita Punia. Easy save for the former India captain.

10' - Good review by Pipers

A good run from the right by Soorma Hockey Club and there's a decent interception by Sunelita Toppo right in front of the goal. However, Deepika Soreng pounces on it for Soorma and pushes the ball to Toppo's feet.

The umpire hands a PC to Soorma, but the Pipers review immediately. They feel it was a backstick by Soreng and replays prove them right. Soorma are denied the penalty corner.

A good review.
