Delhi SG Pipers' Charlotte Watson is Player of the Match

"It is very satisfying to get our first win," said Watson. "The first two games were a very good learning curve. The gameplan was to be aggressive and we did that. We need to build on this."

The Delhi SG Pipers from the bottom of the points table have taken down the table toppers with a clinical win. They had some nervy moments did the Pipers, but Soorma were unable to find the goal post tonight.

The Pipers started off well and duly scored in the second quarter to take the lead via Sangita Kumari. The Soorma Hockey Club came out all guns blazing in the third quarter but the Pipers somehow held on.

The Pipers extended their lead early in the fourth quarter via Deepika and the match was all sealed with it.

Soorma are handed a penalty corner with 18 seconds left on clock and the Pipers get it overturned with a review. The ball raised high off the attacker's stick and not the defender.
