The hosts begin their Pool B campaign against Chile at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai, making a strong start in front of their home crowd.

Led by captain Rohit, the Indian Colts carried high expectations as they looked to recapture the Junior World Cup title for the first time since 2016.

A dominating start to the campaign for the Indian junior men's hockey team, notching 7 goals past the Chilean defence in their first group match of the World Cup.

Having 34 circle penetrations in the match, which is more than five times what Chile was able to make, India clearly showed their aggressive intent.

Rosan Kujur and Dilraj Singh scored a brace for the hosts, whereas Ajeet Yadav, Anmol Ekka and Rohit scored one goal each.

With his win, India has now jumped up to the top of the group stage with 3 points and a better goal difference than Switzerland, who defeated Oman 4-0.
