Highlights from the 2026 Hockey India League auction.
Hockey India League Auction LIVE: The player auction for the upcoming 2026 Hockey India League was held in Delhi on Wednesday.
Over 200 players – more than 100 each in men and women's section – were in the spotlight. The salary cap for men's teams stood at Rs 4 crore, while the number stood at Rs 2 crores for women's teams.
Agustina Gorzelany emerged as the most expensive player, roped in by Bengal Tigers women for Rs 42 lakh. The likes of Valentina Raposo, Granatto Maria Jose, Sander De Wijn, Cooper Burns, and Thies Prinz also were in high demand.
As for Indian buys, 19-year-old Adroit Ekka (11 lakhs) and 17-year-old Vivek Lakra (23 lakh) stood out. Both of them had a base price of Rs 2 lakh.

That's all we have from the 2026 HIL auction. It was a slow start to the day with teams holding their cards tight.
It all broke loose when a 19-year-old Adrohit Ekka was snapped up for Rs 11 lakh by Tamil Nadu Dragons, up from his base price of Rs 2 lakh.
17-year-old Vivek Lakra was the other major Indian buy of the day, drafted in by Ranchi Royals for Rs 23 lakh coming in at a base price of Rs 2 lakh.
Bengal Tigers women splurged Rs 42lakh for Agustina Gorzelany - the costliest buy of this auction. The likes of Valentina Raposo, Granatto Maria Jose, Sander De Wijn, Cooper Burns, and Thies Prinz also earned in excess of Rs 30 lakh.
