25' - Amit Rohidas MISSES!

It is not Harmanpreet Singh, but Amit Rohidas who takes the drag flick. The shot is way wide of the post and India squander a wonderful opportunity to draw level.

24' - Penalty Corner, INDIA!

Shamsher comes in, and immediately gets the ball to Mandeep on the right flank. Mandeep keeps dribbling in the circle and draws a foul to earn a PC.

22' - Green Card, Shamsher!

It just gets from bad to worse for India as Shamsher Singh is shown a green card and is out for a couple of minutes. Australia are on relentless attacks, and this could well be their chance to extend that lead.

20' - Australia take back the lead

Terrible, terrible defence from India this. Tom Craig almost single handedly penetrates the Indian defence; he tumbles, rolls over but manages to put in the cross which finds a deflection to go inside. 

Indian defence found wanting against Craig's speed there.

18' - Australia building from the back

Australia eager to have the possession as they keep playing the ball among themselves in a bid to build from the back.

END OF FIRST QUARTER

Australia found an early lead via a screamer from Sharp. But the Indians never really looked uncomfortable. They eventually equalised, credit to a brilliant effort from Akashdeep, who has been all-over the field the today. 

Nothing much to separate the two teams after the first 15 minutes of play.

11' - Akashdeep finds the NET!

Australian defence tries to clear the ball with an ariel pass, but Akashdeep comes up with a wonderful interception. He leaps with the stick in one hand to block that pass, and creates a move. A couple of passes inside the circle follow and Akashdeep is in a perfect position to find the net.

8' - Good defending from Australia

India tries to create a play from the left flank, Amit Rohidas finds the ball in the circle and tries to pass but is intercepted. That was a decent move from India, but the Australian defenders stay compact to avert danger.

5' - Australia SCORESSSS!

A run right down the centre and the ball finds Sharp for the first time in the match. The youngster doesn't miss out and slots it in with his very first touch of the match. 

PR Sreejesh was way down the post to cut down the angle there, but he was never going to stop that shot.

A very balanced start to this contest, with both sides eager to press forward and losing out on possession. They are slowly getting into the zone.
