HIL Highlights: The Harmanpreet Singh-led Soorma Hockey Club emerged victorious with a bonus point against the Tamil Nadu Dragons in the 2024 Hockey India League match on Sunday at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela.
After a goalless three quarters, the Dragons broke the deadlock with Nathan Ephramus finding the net via a penalty corner. Gujrant Singh followed the suit as the Soormas equalised within minutes.
As the match head into shoot-out goalkeeper Vincent Vanasch stood tall for the Soormas with two saves.

That's all we have from the Hockey India League on Day 2. The Soorma Hockey Club have earned a bonus point after a hard-fought draw in the regulation time against the Tamil Nadu Dragons.
Harmanpreet Singh and co were made to work hard and were trailing in the fourth quarter, before Gurjant helped them equalise. Then it was all about Vincent Vanasch in the shoot-out. The Belgian made two saves to help his team win 4-1 in the shoot-out after the match ended 1-1 at full time.

Nicolas Keenan comes in for Soorma Hockey Club and he also slots it in. That's it. The Tamil Nadu Dragons cannot overtake Soorma and the Harmanpreet Singh and co walk away with the bonus point.

Vivek Sagar Prasad with the next attempt for Soorma. David Harte comes ahead and challenges and Vivek tumbles. The umpire has given a penalty stroke to the Soorma, and it is not. Instead it is a retake for Soorma.

Victor Wegnez moves the goalkeeper around for a bit before slotting the ball in for Soorma. A bit of drama as we have a check on if the hooter went off before Wegnez scored. The GOAL STANDS.

Yup, there it is. After 60 minutes of play, the Soorma Hockey Club and the Tamil Nadu Dragons are inseparable. Both teams will walk away from this match with atleast a point, but we head into the shoot-out for the bonus point at stake.
