HIL: Soorma Hockey Club beat Delhi SG Pipers in shootout – Highlights
END OF FIRST QUARTER
End of a pretty sedate first quarter. Nothing to write home for both sides. The Delhi SG Pipers have enjoyed more possession, but they haven't been able to make anything out of it.
The Soorma Hockey Club started a bit tentatively but they have grown comfortable as the time went on. Still too early to say who has the edge here.
Soorma 0-0 Pipers
14' - No one to receive Keenan's pass
Nicolas Keenan with a good shot from the right with a reverse into the shooting circle. However, there's no Soorma forward to deflect it into the goal. Goalkeeper Rennie Benjamin realises it and just lets the ball go into the goal.
Of course, it won't stand. But where were the Soorma forwards?
Soorma 0-0 Pipers
10' - Back stick inside the circle from Pipers
A good move created by the Delhi SG Pipers and the Soorma Hockey Club defence has been ripped open. Not the best of pass into the circle though from the Pipers and Koji Yamasaki has to stretch full length to get the ball.
The Japanese player does manage to get a touch, but it is off the back stick.
Soorma 0-0 Pipers
6' - PC MISSED, PIPERS!
A good drag flick from the Delhi SG Pipers, but Nicolas della Torre is fearless at the post. Just stands his ground and deflects the ball away from the goal post. Excellent from della Torre that.
Soorma 0-0 Pipers
6' - PC, DELHI SG PIPERS!
A good aerial ball into the circle and Jake Whetton collects it cleanly. He then pushes it firmly into the legs of an unaware defender. That's a penalty corner for Delhi SG Pipers.
4' - Whetton goes wide
A good run in from the right flank by Delhi SG Pipers and the ball finds Jake Whetton in the shooting circle. Whetton's deflection is however wide of the post.
Soorma 0-0 Pipers
3' - A lot of midfield action
A lot of midfield action as we head into the fourth minute of the match. No real threats created by either teams yet and there's been a lot of turnovers in the midfield.
Soorma 0-0 Pipers
1' - Delhi SG Pipers get us underway
