2026 FIH Women's World Cup LIVE: Having made it to the second stage with a goalless draw over England, India are set to take on the reigning world champions Netherlands in the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup Pool E on Friday.
It will be the toughest challenge yet in the tournament for Salima Tete and co, who've entered the second stage with a point from their Pool D draw against Olympic silver medallists China.
If India can hold Netherlands even for a draw tonight, they can seriously start dreaming about a semi-final spot.
Can Sjoerd Marijne and girls pull it off?

Netherlands yet another penalty corner and they have finally doubled their lead.
With Yibbi Jansen called out for a bit of rest, it is Frederique Matla with the drag flicking duties.
Matla makes the most of it. Beats Bichu Devi to slot the ball in! Jansen on the bench is elated.

Netherlands continue to be in control and press forward. Freeke Moes finds empty space and goes on a run.
She reaches the top of the circle and drills the ball in. A deflection from one of the Dutch players takes the shot above the bar.

Netherlands continue from where they left off. An early second penetration and another penalty corner for the hosts.
Yibbi Jansen with the drag flick and it is blocked by the first rusher.
India create a counter attack out of that from nowhere and the Dutch are caught by surprise.
It is a 2v1 against a defender for India inside the circle. The ball finds Sunelita Toppo, who takes the shot only for the goalkeeper to kick it away.
THAT WAS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY MISSED!
IND 0-1 NED
We are back live for the third quarter. India move from right to left this time.

"We are losing the ball too fast. Defensively we are happy where we at," says Indian coach Sjored Marijne.
That bit of play also brings an end to the first half. India have played much better in the second quarter, compared to the first.
They've created chances, earned a couple of PCs but don't have anything to show for it unfortunately.
They also have Savita Punia to thank, who has ensured that Netherlands don't extend their lead.
IND 0-1 NED
Netherlands take advantage of the player advantage straightaway and it is Savita Punia's smart work by cutting down the angle which keeps the scoreline intact.
That very well could have been disastrous for India.
IND 0-1 NED
Beauty Dung Dung picks up a green card. India are down to ten players for the next two minutes, including the early portion of the second half.
IND 0-1 NED
The baseline on the left is once again opened up with a 1-2 play from Netherlands. The ball is then played into the circle brilliantly and there is chaos right in front of the goal.
Savita Punia stays calm and blocks the ball. The Indian defenders surround and somehow get out of it. That was close!
