Santosh Trophy: Kerala through to semis with 2-1 win - Highlights

Kerala finish the group stage with 10 points from 4 matches. They become the first team to go through to the semis of the 2022 Santosh Trophy.

Just like the match against Bengal, Kerala break the floodgates open with less than 5 minutes on the clock. It's their skipper Jijo Joseph on the mark again. His 2nd of the night.

Kerala 2-1 Punjab

As things stand, Kerala would make it through this group as group leaders with 8 points.

Punjab would get into a three-way battle with Bengal and Meghalaya for the second semi spot. Both teams would be well served with a draw. As the last break of the match takes place, a slew of changes made by both sides.

Still, Kerala 1-1 Punjab

Both sides with several penetrating attacks, but nothing to add to the score so far.

Like in most of their matches, Kerala build a wave of attacks to begin the 2nd half. The Punjab keeper called to make a brilliant save to keep Jijo Joseph out.

Kerala begin the second half with more attacking intent than they did in the first half. 

Jayaraj delivers a free kick into the box as the first half enters added time. And his attempt goes past the keeper, but is kept out by the left goal post. Kerala go very close to taking a 2-1 lead but not to be - scores level at the half-time whistle.

Kerala are forced to change their keeper after he requires his second medical timeout of the night.

Punjab seem to have taken Kerala by surprise in the first half. With 12 minutes left in the half, the visitors still look more likely to score.

Punjab seem to take the lead again but the vuvuzelas ring out again as the linesman's flag goes up for off side. Score remains 1-1.

Then Kerala get close to taking the lead but the ball rolls harmlessly wide. It's quite end to end at the moment.
