India played just like defending champions after defeating Nepal with a massive scoreline of 8-0! This was Shanmugam Venkatesh's second victory in-charge of the Indian U-20 team at the SAFF Championship 2022.

There were similar faces on the scoresheet with the likes of Himanshu Jangra, Gurkirat Singh, and Parthib Gogoi all finding the net just like their last outing against Sri Lanka. Gogoi and Taison Singh Loingtombam each scored a brace, with substitute Shubho Paul scoring the eighth goal in the fag end of the game.

Nepal didn't seem as a team who were coming off two dominating wins as they were struggling to create any real chances throughout the game. India plays their final group stage match against Maldives on 2nd August at 7 pm IST as they look to increase their chances to make it to the summit meet.
