NEROCA FC win the Imphal derby against TRAU FC in the Durand Cup 2022.

NEROCA FC secure the bragging rights after they sail past TRAU FC in the Imphal Derby. The victors doled out a 3-1 defeat to their local rivals in front of a packed stadium.
The first 45 minutes were exactly what a local derby should be- exciting and full of goals. NEROCA took the lead twice, once through Tangva and then courtesy Thomyo's deft header. In between these two goals, TRAU were able to hit their opponents on the counter and score via their captain Komron.
However, the momentum shifted in favour of NEROCA after John Chidi slotted the ball inside the net due to sloppy defending by TRAU. From that moment, it was a one-sided game, even though the men in white put up a commendable fight to get back into the game.
