Indian Men Sprint team of Esow Alben, Ronaldo Singh and Rojit Singh created history during the wee hours on Thursday as they won Gold in ongoing World Junior Championships. In an unprecedented turn of events, this was India’s first medal at the World Junior Championships also this is for the first time in history Indian national anthem was played at cycling world championship and that too on Independence day of India. https://twitter.com/TheBridge_IN/status/1161828300282425344?s=20   The Indian team beat top cycling teams around the world to finish on top spot clocking a time of 44.625 seconds. In the final, India beat Australia which registered a timing of 44.681 seconds. Earlier, the Indian team qualified for the Quarter-finals with the fastest timing of 45.095 seconds in Qualifying round 1. India topped the Quarter Final race and qualified for final along with second fastest team Australia. In the final, India team was trailing after the first lap by .244 second. While in the second lap, they reduced the gap to 0.030 seconds and in the final, they were even faster. Great Britain won the bronze medal after beating Germany. The Indian men's junior team is currently ranked two, behind Malaysia. The Indian team beat top cycling teams around the world to finish on top spot clocking a time of 44.625 seconds. Esow, who is ranked 1 in both sprint and keirin, will be the other Indian hopeful for a medal in the ongoing Junior World Championship. The women's team, comprising of Triyasha and Nikita finished 5th in women's team sprint. India have send a team of six people -- four boys and two girls -- at the tournament. The individual events will start from tomorrow where Esow and Nikita will be in action.
