India’s Sourav Kothari’s fine run at the 2024 IBSF World Men’s Snooker Championship in Doha, Qatar ended on Tuesday.

Kothari was beaten 1-4 by Iran’s Ali Gharahgozlou in the quarterfinals.

The Indian was a fine form through the championship and had emerged from his group as the top player.

In the round of 16, Kothari had nudged out Darryl Hill 4-3.

And it took a fine performance from Iran’s Ali Gharahgozlou to put an end to the Indian’s run.

With this outcome, India’s challenge at the snooker championships draws to a close.

Kothari was the runner up in the 2019 World Billiard Championships and he also counts the World Billiards Championship, which he won in 2018, among one of several other important titles won through his illustrious career thus far.
