Surfing, Women's Shortboard: Not a good start for India

There's surfing's official debut at the Asian Games. India are represented in both women's shortboard and men's shortboard with the former starting off the campaign.

Sugar Shanti Gayen, surfing in Heat 3, finished last of the three competitors. She recorded a total score of 3.84, earning 2.67 points with her first wave before falling to an even poorer 1.17 in her second. It has left her 6.51 point behind the heat leader.

Kamali Prakash, meanwhile, has had an even more disappointing outing in two-surfer Heat 5. She gets 2.67 points with her first wave before going down to 1.07 with her second. The other surfer in her heat has a total of 10.93, making the Indian's 3.74 look even more bad.
