Dev Meena maintained his clean record and cleared the 5.30m mark on his first attempt, and is now in joint lead.

Kuldeep Kumar, however, had his first failed attempt at this height and will now return for the next two attempts.

Dev Meena is only the third pole vaulter who has cleared this height so far, with one athlete yet to start his competition.
