Manav Thakkar showed a brilliant comeback after losing the first two games against Jo Kum Gwang of North Korea to grab a hard-fought five-game (10-12, 5-11, 11-6, 11-9, 11-5) victory.

On the other hand, Harmeet Desai progressed to the third round of the men's singles category with a much easier four-game (11-9, 11-5, 5-11, 11-2) win over Rashed of Bahrain in the round of 64.
