Badminton: Indian campaign ends as PV Sindhu loses in quarterfinals to world No. 4
The former medalist PV Sindhu had a very good start against the world No.4 Chen Yufei of China, winning the first game dominantly at 21-11.
In the second game, Yufei fought back strongly and troubled Sindhu and then, in a close game, edged her 21-18 with four straight points after trailing 17-18.
Sindhu couldn't recover from this missed opportunity and bowed out in the third game, 10-21, bringing an end to her and India's campaign in badminton.
India will end the individual badminton competition without a medal after 12 years. However, the men's team had earlier won a bronze and proved to be the only badminton medal in Japan.
