India's Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety Boora, on Saturday, bagged the gold medal in 48kg and 81kg respectively at the ongoing 2023 Women's World Boxing Championships in Delhi.

They became the sixth and seventh Indian woman World Champions respectively.

52kg: Yu Wu beat Sirine Charaabi 5:0 

57kg: Testa Irma beat Karina 5:0

63kg: Nataliya lost to Yang 1:4

70kg: Anastasiia beat Scott Frances

81kg: Saweety beat Wang Lina 4:3

That's all we have from the first day of the 2023 Women's World Boxing Championships Final. India bag two gold medals, courtesy Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety Boora.

While the former won convincingly, the latter's bout was sent for a review. Saweety, however, prevailed 4:3 in the end to win a World Championships gold - 9 years after she had to settle for silver in 2014. A great story arc complete.
