Youth National Basketball Cship: Rajasthan and Karnataka emerge victorious
Rajasthan were the winners in the boys category, defeating Karnataka, whereas in the girls category, Karnataka triumphed.
Rajasthan and Karnataka emerged as the champions of the 39th Youth National Basketball Championships, which were held in Kolkata on Thursday.
Rajasthan won the boys' category, defeating Karnataka 85-67 in the finals. In the girls' category, Karnataka defeated Tamil Nadu 61-54 to take the trophy.
Tamil Nadu finished in third place in the boys section, beating Haryana in a high-scoring tight contest in the third-placed game, winning 101-100.
Similarly, in the girls' section, the third-place match was played between Kerala and Maharastra, and Kerala defeated Maharastra convincingly, winning the match 83-54 and walked away as the third-placed team.
Uttar Pradesh and Telangana finished as the sixth-placed teams in the boys' and girls' categories respectively, defeating Telangana and Gujarat respectively.
The seventh and eighth place in the boys category was taken by Madhya Pradesh and Punjab, with the former defeating the latter 68-55 in the seventh-placed match.
In the girls' section, Punjab defeated Rajasthan 65-55 in the seventh-placed match.
The 39th edition of the Youth National Basketball Championships were held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, from November 29 till December 5.
A total of 29 teams participated in the boys' section, and 27 teams competed in the girls section, as the young boys and girls were given an opportunity to showcase their skills at the big stage.
