India lose to New Zealand but qualify for next round in Asian Qualifiers FIBA Basketball 2023 World Cup: Highlights

India and New Zealand were facing each other for the second time in the first round of 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

India who looked very strong in Q1 quickly fell behind New Zealand from Q2 and lost the match by 60-95. Vishesh Bhriguvanshi was India's highest scorer with 10 points.

Even though India is yet to win a match in this round of the Asian Qualifiers, India along with New Zealand and the Philippines has advanced to the next round. This is because, the fourth team in Group A - South Korea, after forfeiting the first three matches, has been disqualified from the campaign, hence, clearing India's path for the next round.

After South Korea's disqualification from the Asian Qualifiers, India moves to Round 2, winless. They will next face the Philippines again on June 30.
