2-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, seeded sixth took on reigning Olympic champion Chen Yufei of China in the semi-finals of the Thailand Open but Sindhu lost in straight games, 21-17, 21-16 to the third-seeded Chinese.

With PV Sindhu losing at the semi-finals of the BWF Super 500 tournament, India's campaign and quest for gold also comes to an end in this tournament.
However, there is no denying that the last 2 weeks have shown us some phenomenal stuff from the Indian shuttlers and it is only a sign of better days to come!
Chen Yufei comes up from behind in the second game and wins this match, 21-17, 21-16 and enters the finals of the Thailand Open 2022.
