Another long rally – 74 shots this time – and it falls in favour of the Indians. Treesa with a wonderful interception at the net and she picks the bones out of the shuttle with a fiery hit towards the open right side of the Chinese pair.

Good start for the Indians
A couple of fine deft touches at the net from both Treesa and Gayatri to earn four points in a row. The latter, however, goes long in the next rally. Treesa-Gayatri lead 4-2.

Their only win over Liu-Tan came at the 2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team C'ships, which incidentally was the first-ever face-off between these two pairs.
