That's all we have today from the Indian players in the 2021 Sudirman Cup at the Energia Areena. A proper trashing, if one can put it that way but thankfully the team has a one-day break before their next match.

They certainly need to regroup and rework their strategies before they take on the hosts Finland the day after tomorrow.

Thank you for joining in, I hope you have a decent day after this witnessing this loss.

What a terrible day this has been for the Indian players and fans. They have been absolutely decimated 5-0, failing to win even a single match.

Also, if this was not enough, note that India did not win even a single game. They lost each of the 5 matches in straight games! Surely, China were the hot favourites coming into this contest, but was a 5-0 trashing really expected?

2021-09-27 10:55 GMT

India did save two match points, but it doesn't really matter. This was not even a contest as Feng-Du finish off the match in just 29 minutes.

13 match point opportunity for China at 20-7.

2021-09-27 10:53 GMT

This is all but over now. Feng-Du lead 12-7, and a 5-0 trashing looks a certainty now for India.

2021-09-27 10:51 GMT

The Chinese have now raced to an eight-point lead at 14-7. Indians struggling to hang on.

2021-09-27 10:49 GMT

India does get consecutive points in the bid to cling on to this match, but China leads 11-6 at the mid-game break.

Can Srikanth and Rutaparna bounce back?

2021-09-27 10:46 GMT

This seems to be going from bad to worse for India, as Feng and Du continue to dominate. No room for error for the Indians.

2021-09-27 10:45 GMT

Feng challenges a call, but it was well out. India trail 2-6.

2021-09-27 10:44 GMT

Rutaparna wins the first point for India in the game. 1-6!
