The third day of the 2024 Singapore Open was a bittersweet day for the Indian fans as the star names exited from the tournament but enfed with a big win in the women's doubles discipline.

P.V Sindhu bowed out to world no.3, Carolina Marin of Spain, in a close three game. Over on the men's side, H.S Prannoy lose to Japan's 11th ranked Kenta Nishimoto. 

On the other hand, the doubles pairing of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand forced a big upset and knocked out the Korean duo of S.H Lee and H.N Baek, to book a place in the quarters.

A bittersweet day for Indian shuttlers at round of 16 of Singapore Open 2024 as star shuttlers, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy, lose their respective hard fought three game matches.

But, the day ends with a welcoming victory from the young Indian women's doubles pairing of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand.

They upset the world no.2 Korean pairing of Lee So Hee and Baek Ha Na, to book their place in the quarterfinals.
