It's been an exciting day of badminton action at the Singapore Open with some surprising results!

1. PV Sindhu had an easy outing against Lianne Tan and defeated her 21-15, 21-11

2. Mithun Manjunath showed maturity against Kidambi Srikanth and upset the former World No. 1, 21-17, 15-21, 21-18

3. Ashmita Chaliha was phenomenal against WR 12 and seventh-seeded Thai player Busanan Ongbamrungphan and defeated her, 21-16, 21-11

4. Saina Nehwal finally registered victory against Malvika Bansod, 21-18, 21-14

5. HS Prannoy showed class to defeat Sitthikom Thammasin, 21-13, 21-16

6. Nithin HV/S Ram Poorvisha defeated Misha Zilberman/Svetlana Zilberman, 21-15, 21-14

7. Parupalli Kashyap lost to Indonesian veteran Jonatan Christie, 21-14, 21-15

8. Sameer Verma lost to Li Shi Feng, 21-10, 21-13

7. Pooja Dandu/Arathi Sunil got a walkover from Hu Ling Fang/Lin Xiao Min
