Lakshya Sen finishes fourth at the Paris Olympics as Lee Zii Jia beat him in 71 minutes in the bronze medal playoff.

Lakshya Sen conceded an opening game lead to Lee Zii Jia to lose the bronze medal playoff against his Malaysian counterpart 21-13, 16-21 11-21 in 71 minutes. 

Despite the defeat, Lakshya ended his Paris 2024 campaign on a high. He became the first Indian male shuttler to make it to the semifinals at the Olympic Games.

Lee finishes it off with a mighty body smash. It shows how his game has transformed in this bronze medal playoff. He was nowhere close to his best in the opening game. He lost it 13-21. 

But from the second game onwards, he retrieved almost everything and found his big smashes back to beat Lakshya 21-16, 21-11 in the next two games. 

Heartbreak for Lakshya Sen. He will have to go home empty-handed, while Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia wins the bronze medal.
