PV Sindhu beats Phittayaporn Chaiwan by 19-21, 21-9, 21-14 to reach the quarterfinals. HS Prannoy pulled off a massive upset by defeating World No. 4 Chinese Taipei player Chou Tien Chen in straight games, 21-15, 21-17 to also enter the quarterfinals.
As the day progressed, Parupalli Kashyap played a decent match but ultimately lost to Thai sensation Kunlavut Vitidsarn, 21-19, 21-10.
The doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will also be eyeing quarterfinal berth at the Super 750 tournament.

Although the reasons are not fully known yet, men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have given a walkover to the local pair of Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin.
Parupalli Kashyap played a great first set but it was purely a Vitidsarn show in the second as he took 9 points on the trot to win the match, 21-19, 21-10!
Come back stronger, Kashyap!
The unforced errors are coming easily from Kashyap now who hasn't been able to stop Vitidsarn from a points-rampage.
Kashyap comes out all guns blazing and sends full-power smashes! But Vitidsarn keeps the lead.
Vitidsarn is playing sharper in this second game and races to take a lead but Kashyap also produces good shots!
Despite leading the game for the majority of it, Kashyap ends up conceding the game to Vitidsarn who steps up too.
Vitidsarn takes Game 1, 21-19 although Kashyap was the better player.
