Malaysia Masters: Sindhu, Ashmita into quarters; Treesa-Gayatri exits - Highlights

On the third day of the Malaysia Masters Super 500, star shuttler PV Sindhu were in action for her second round match against Sim Yu Jin of South Korea on Thursday.
On the other hand, Ashmita Chaliha and Kiran George played out their respective round of 16 matches. In women doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand exited after losing against Chinese Taipei paring of Sung and Yu.
As it happened:
-PV Sindhu wins (21-13, 12-21, 21-14) against Sim Yu Jin of South Korea
-Ashmita Chaliha wins (21-19, 16-21, 21-12) against Beiwen Zhang of USA
-Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand lose (18-21, 22-20, 14-21) to Sung Shuo Yun-Yu Chien Hui
-Kiran George lose (13-21, 18-21) to Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia
young Indian shuttler, Kiran George, also exited the competition in the round of 16 after losing to in-form Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia in a straight-game (13-21, 18-21) affair at the Malaysia Masters.
Kiran looked better in the second game but could convert his lead. Hence, the experienced Lee took full advantage of it to close out the match.
