Indian shuttler Kiran George started off his Korean Masters 2024 campaign with a win in the first round, at Iksan City, South Korea on Wednesday.

Facing Vietnam's Kuan Lin Kuo in the first round, Kiran George defeated him 2-1 (15-21, 21-12, 21-15) in just under an hour.

George is the only Indian shuttler in the Korean Masters and will hope to finish off the season on a high.

The Indian was slow to start the match, with Lin Kuo making the early noise in the first game, and at the mid-game interval, had a healthy 11-4 interval.

The Vietnamese did not let the lead slip as he pushed through and claimed the first game, winning 21-15 and made it 1-0.

Game two, however, was a completely different story as the Indian shifted gears and was on top throughout.

With a 11-5 lead at the interval, he closed off game two winning it 21-12 and took the match to the decider.

The script of game two continued onto game three as well, with the Indian shuttler seemingly in no mood to slow down, once again heading into the interval with a 11-5 score line, a six-point lead.

With the game in his bag, Kiran ensured there were no slip ups, and saw out the rest of the game, winning it comfortably 21-15 to complete the comeback.
