For the first time in history, an Indian male shuttler will compete in the finals of the Singles event and fight it out for Gold. Kidambi Srikanth is set to face Loh Kean Yew in the match scheduled to take place at 6:30 pm IST today.

Kidambi has already scripted history by ensuring a place in the final. His silver is the first medal that has been won by an Indian male singles player in a BWF World Championship.
The two players embraced each other and the crowd was also applauding the Indian for his efforts today. He has been brilliant throughout the tournament and deserves all the applause he gets today.
Kidambi came really close to drawing the game but could not prevent Loh Kean Yew who was simply on fire today.
He wins the game and takes the Gold Medal as a result of this stellar victory
