HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen and Priyanshu Rajawat made a shock opening-round exit from the China Open Super 1000 badminton tournament on Tuesday.  HS Prannoy go down to Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong 12-21 21-13 18-21. Reigning Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen crashed out to Anders Antonsen of Denmark 21-23 21-16 9-21. Priyanshu Rajawat went down 13-21 24-26 to Indonesia’s Shesar Hiren Rhustavito.

In women's doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand lost to world no.1 Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan of China 18-21 11-21. In men doubles, MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila lost to Keiichiro Matsui-Yoshinori Takeuchi of Japan 21-23, 19-21.
