India’s men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty along with HS Prannoy advanced to the quarterfinals of the BWF World Championships 2023 while Lakshya Sen and women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand crashed out on Thursday.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty had a superb three-setter 21-15, 19-21, 21-9 win against Indonesians Daniel Marthin-Leo Rolly Carnando. In the men’s singles pre-quarters, Prannoy defeated Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 21-18, 15-21, 21-19, while Lakshya Sen lost 14-21, 21-16, 13-21 to Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn.
In women's doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand were no match for China's Chen Qing Chen-Jia Yi Fan as the Indians lost 21-14, 21-9
