Welcome to the very first day of badminton action from the much-awaited BWF World Championships 2022 being held in Tokyo, Japan!
In PV Sindhu's absence, all eyes will be on men - Lakshya Sen & Co. to deliver a medal for India from the Championships.
A lot of mouth-watering clashes are lined up for the day as Lakshya, Prannoy, Srikanth, and others will open their bid.

In the men's singles, apart from Sai Praneeth, everybody - Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy are into the second round.
In women's singles, Malvika Bansod lost.
In men's doubles, Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri lost while MR Arjun/Dhruv Kapila won.
In women's doubles, Ashwini/Sikki and Pooja Dandu and Sanjana Santosh registered victories.
And in Mixed Doubles, Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto also progressed.
Phew! That was close. Srikanth has to save game points before he can convert this game as he comes back from behind to win it, 22-20.
