Former Champion PV Sindhu was knocked out on the second day of the ongoing BWF World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, but Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy advanced to the third round.

Lakshya Sen beat Jeon Heyok Jin of Korea 21-11, 21-12 to move into the Round of 16. Sindhu lacked in attacking play and went down tamely 14-21, 14-21 to old nemesis Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. The world number 9 HS Prannoy cruised past Indonesia's Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo by 21-9, 21-14 to reach the Round of 16.
