61.96m for Kara Winger

After an underwhelming start Kara Winger gets things going at 61.96m. That's the first good throw of the second round - and the first legal throw after 5 back to back fouls.

Annu Rani remains 10th.

5 ordinary throws back to back

Competition leader Mackenzie Little with an underwhelming 49.78 and she is followed by 4 fouls back to back from Jaisunaite, Liu, Gleadle and Kitaguchi. 

After 14 legal throws, we all of a sudden have 4 fouls one after the other.

Annu Rani falls to 10th

Sae Takemoto of Japan goes 57.93m in her second attempt and Annu Rani is down to 10th. She needs to be among the top 8 at the end of three throws to have get three more throws in the final.

ANNU RANI TAKES HER FIRST ATTEMPT!

Nothing impressive from the Indian national record holder as she manages just 56.18m. She is 9th overall after all the first-round throws. Not the kind of start she would have hoped for.

The defending champion starts well and registers her Season Best of 62.67m.

Annika Fuchs gets 55.42m

A drop in standards for now as Germany's Annika Fuchs settles for 55.42m.

Kara Winger manages only 56.93m

Nothing very impressive from the American and she finds herself second from bottom for now.

The Latvian Lina Muze has a decent throw but falls just below 60m - 59.83m.

Haruka Kitaguchi goes above 60m

Haruka Kitaguchi registers 62.07m and she goes to the second position behind Mackenzie Little.
