That's the end of Day 11 and it turned out to be yet another disappointing day for Indian athletics at the Tokyo Olympics

In the morning session, we saw Annu Rani getting knocked out from the qualification round of the Women's Javelin Throw.

Whereas in the evening session, it was Tajinderpal Singh Toor in the Men's Shot Put event. What would be disappointing for both the athletes is that they weren't able to hit their personal best performances at the games.

Well, we hope for a better day tomorrow as we have Neeraj Chopra in action for the Men's Javelin Throw qualification round.

Thank you very much for joining in today and we'll see you tomorrow for more live-action.

Goodbye!!

Tomas Walsh qualifies.

After all the drama and suspense, Tomas Walsh qualifies directly for the finals as his final attempt is counted which was at 21.49m. The officials took a long time to make that decision.

He finishes top of Group A in the process.

Tomas Walsh's only valid attempt is at 20.38m and he's seventh in the standing.

He might miss out on qualifying for the finals if this attempt is deemed invalid.

We're waiting for an update from the officials.

Well, well, drama.

It looked like Tomas Walsh, bronze medallist at Rio, had qualified for the final directly with his third attempt but it has been deemed invalid.

The officials are currently checking the footage.

UPDATE

Tomas Walsh had made an official complaint after his second attempt was counted invalid.

It has been corrected after the officials checked the footage. His second attempt has been counted at 20.38m and he's currently seventh.

That's the end for Tajinderpal Singh at the Tokyo Olympics.

His third attempt is also an invalid one as she stepped out of the bounds and the throw itself didn't cross his best attempt of 19.99m either.

2021-08-03 10:54 GMT

All the athletes have completed their second attempts and Tajinderpal Singh is currently 12th.

He'll need a big final attempt to have any chances of reaching the final.

He's the first in order to take the third attempt, let's see how he does.

2021-08-03 10:45 GMT

We have our first direct qualifier as Brazil's Darlan Romani hits 21.31m and advances to the finals.

Tajinderpal Singh is currently tenth.

Invalid second throw.

Tajinderpal's second attempt won't be counted and it looked like he hadn't improved on his first attempt even if it was valid.
