India’s Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra returns to the global stage for the men’s javelin throw final at the World Athletics Championships 2025.
Having qualified with just one throw of 84.85m, Chopra is among the frontrunners for gold. He will be joined by compatriot Sachin Yadav, who also made it to the final with a strong showing in the qualifiers.

Pooja became the third Indian athlete at the 2025 World Athletics Championships to record a personal best, following Sarvesh Kushare in the men’s high jump and Sachin Yadav in the men’s javelin throw. She clocked 2:01.03 in the women’s 800m heats.
Keshorn Walcott takes gold with a best throw of 88.16, Peters silver with 87.38 and Curtis Thompson bronze with 86.67.
Sachin improves slightly with 85.96m, keeping himself firmly in medal contention.
