He clocked 20.87s in heat 1 of the men's 200m despite slowing down in the last 20 metres and qualified for the final.

Harita Bhadra also breaches the 200m qualification mark with a season best of 23.55s

She wins the third heat and has now booked a spot for the final, which is expected to be a close affair as there were multiple sub-24s runners in the heats.

Unnathi Bollanda breaches Asian Games mark in women's 200m

She won heat 2 with a time of 20.65s to breach the mark of 23.70s and qualify for the final.

Jyothi Yarraji begins her season in 200m; reaches the final with 24.10s

She finished second in heat-1 behind Prakruthi Roopa (23.78s) but has booked her spot for the final.
