End of Day 4. India won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal today. This takes India's total gold medal count to 6. For a few minutes, India overtook China to become 2nd in the medal tally at the 2023 AAC, but China have reclaimed the second spot with their 6th gold in the last event of the day - discus throw.

Two of the biggest events for the day - India's relay team winning gold with a new NR and Sreeshankar qualifying for the Olympics with a massive 8.37m jump.

Swapna Barman finishes the 800m race, the 7th and last event of the Heptathlon, in third spot. That is good enough for a silver medal for her. The third silver of the day for India.

We have the first gold of the day! The 6th gold of the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships for India! It's the mixed team in the 400m relay race who do it for India! Subha, the latest entrant into the team, looked to have dropped down to 2nd in the last leg, but she pulled off a miraculous recovery.

One of the most exciting and entertaining events of the entire meet - the mixed 400m relay is up next. India will field a strong lineup comprising Rajesh Ramesh, Amoj Jacob, Aishwarya Mishra and Subha V.

8.37m from Sreeshankar on his last attempt! Massive from the Indian to end his final and he lets out a massive scream to celebrate. He still has to settle for silver, but what an immense effort when he needed it. A best jump of the international season for Sree.

Jyothi Yarraji continues her blistering run of form by topping her 200m semifinal with a time of 23.29s, the fastest time across both the semifinals. Another gold incoming tomorrow from her then?

For now, all eyes return to Sreeshankar.

Lin Yu Tang of Taipei came up with a massive 8.40m jump in his 4th attempt, suddenly creating a gulf with the rest of the field.

Sreeshankar also raises the bar (figuratively). He jumps 8.13 in his 5th attempt. His best jump of the day. Still far away from the Taipei jumper's mark though. Will it be a silver then? One last jump remaining for all the athletes.

It looked like he had cleared it! But a trailing leg just managed to knock the bar off. 2.28m is the mark Anil Sarvesh Kushare cannot cross. Which means that he does not remain in contention for the gold.

A well-earned silver medal with a jump of 2.26m, but it could have gone on if only a millimetre had appeared out of somewhere between Sarvesh's foot and the bar.

Anil Sarvesh Kushare has one last attempt left to clear 2.28m. Only three jumpers are left at this stage. The Korean jumper has managed to clear all heights without a single foul jump so far. As such, Sarvesh has dropped down to silver medal spot. Can he keep the battle going by clearing 2.28?

The 800m heats see two Indians top. Krishan Kumar tops a heat in the men's section, Chanda tops a women's heat.
