The penultimate day of the 2025 Federation Cup in Kochi, Kerala, took place on Wednesday

The likes of Vithya Ramraj, Sandra Babu, Krishan Kumar, Shankar Lal Swami, and others were in action throughout the day with medals on offer across multiple events.

The evening session saw finals in disciplines like women's triple jump, women's and men's 400m hurdles, 3000m steeplechase for both men and women, women's shot put, and men's hammer throw.

Vithya also cleared the Asian qualifying mark of 56.04. This is also the second-best timing in Asia this year.

Yashas clocked a personal best timing to clinch the gold medal. This is also a new Asian Lead timing for him.

However, he could not cross the Asian Championships Qualifying mark of 49.19s.

The qualifying mark for the Asian Championships in the women's triple jump is 13.68m.

This is a tough ask for the Indian athletes, as only three Indians have ever touched this mark of 13.68m in the all-time top list.

The current lead for India in 2025 is 13.37m of Niharika Vashist, who is also competing at the Federation Cup today and will be one of the favourites to win the title.

NV Sheena (PB - 13.60m) will also be among the ones to watch out for. However, she had a off season so far and have a sub-par season best of 13.19m.

Asian Games medalist Tejaswin Shankar is currently leading the Decathlon after the first three events in the morning session.

The fourth event will be his pet event, the men's high jump. He is also the National record holder in this discipline with 2.29m.

He will be hoping to reach near that mark today, and secure more points, which can help in breaching the Asian qualifying mark of 7527 Points.

Damneet could not breach the 70m mark but had a new personal best and also the current Indian lead for the year to clinch the gold medal in the men's hammer throw event.
