India concluded its campaign at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Saturday, ending a thrilling 14-day extravaganza in Japan with a total of 85 medals.

The country finished fourth in the medal table with 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze, matching its position from the previous edition despite winning 21 fewer medals than at the 2023 Hangzhou Games.

After a slow start in the opening days, Indian athletes surged in the final five days, winning 17 gold medals and climbing from 12th to 4th place in the standings.

Although India fell short of the triple-digit mark, the contingent still produced several outstanding performances, with five athletes claiming three medals each.

Here is the list of Indian athletes with the most medals at the 2026 Asian Games.

Kumkum Mohod (2 Gold, 1 Silver)

The 17-year-old archer was the standout performer of these Games as she led the Indian women’s recurve contingent, winning two gold medals in the women’s team and women’s individual events.

She became India’s first-ever individual recurve gold medallist, defeating the reigning world champion and world silver medallist en route to the title, while also securing a quota place for India at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

She also played a crucial role in India’s women’s team triumph with an outstanding average of 9.75, ending Korea’s long unbeaten streak in the event since the 1998 Asian Games.

She was close to a third gold as well but fell just short in the mixed team final against China, losing 3-5 in what was probably her only mistake of the competition.

Neeru Dhanda (2 Gold, 1 Silver)

The trap shooter was the star of the Indian shooting contingent this time, winning India's first-ever women's trap gold medal and then doubling it with a mixed team gold with Kynan Chenai.

In an otherwise pale shooting campaign, Neeru came in as the star highlight, showcasing elite consistency throughout the competition from Qualification to the finals.

She had also single handedly push Indian women's trap team to the silver medal position, as the other two shooters didn't have their best outings.

Vithya Ramraj (1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze)

The star Indian quarter-miler delivered her finest major international performance, winning three medals, including gold in the women’s 4x400m relay - India’s only athletics gold in Japan.

Her late surge in the 4x400m final, pulling clear of the leading Chinese runner, was one of the most memorable moments of the Games. She also played a key role in India’s silver medal-winning 4x400m mixed relay team.

Alongside that, she has also shown her quality in the individual event, winning bronze while becoming the first Indian 400m hurdler to clock a sub-55-second time and break the country’s 44-year-old national record.

Gulveer Singh (2 Silver, 1 Bronze)

The elite long and middle distance runner Gulveer Singh delivered another strong international performance, winning three medals: 10,000m silver, 1500m silver, and 5000m bronze.

Although the elusive gold medal continued to evade him, it was still one of his finest outings as he remained consistent despite the tough, rainy conditions in Nagoya.

Rudrankksh Patil (2 Silver, 1 Bronze)

The former world champion rifle shooter finally claimed his first individual Asian Games medal with a bronze in the air rifle event, having finished fourth in the previous edition.

He may not be entirely satisfied with the bronze, however, as he led the field at the 14-shot mark before losing his rhythm in the later stages and having to settle for third.

He was also an important part of both the Indian air rifle and 50m three-position rifle silver medal-winning teams, ending his campaign with three medals.
