Asian Games 2026: India eye hockey gold as boxing, archery finals loom on October 2

India face China in the women’s hockey final on Friday as the defending champions look to add another gold medal to their Asian Games campaign.

The hockey final is the headline event of a busy day for India, with three boxers also fighting for gold. Lovlina Borgohain takes on China’s Ziyi Bao in the women’s 75kg final, while Parveen Hooda faces Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien-chin in the 65kg final. Ankush Panghal will meet South Korea’s Kim Jin-ho in the men’s 80kg final.

India’s recurve archers will also be chasing medals across the women’s team, mixed team and men’s team events, while wrestling and cycling provide further medal opportunities.
